Rest & Recharge on the 9th November


Our focus for this takeover day is all about taking time to rest and recharge, something that can be understandably challenging to prioritise in our busy lives. 

We’ll be introducing you to the restful and restorative practice of meditation, which is simply a way to achieve a greater sense of wellbeing, a clear and calm mind and better manage stress. 

We’ll be hosting a gentle yoga class, the perfect opportunity for you to try out this calming and grounding practice.

Below you can find out what to look out for and how to get involved - note that some of the experiences require you to sign up in advance, be quick, places are allocated on a first come, first served basis. 

As this is a company event you do not have to make up the time if you are attending any sessions, but you should agree with your line manager first.

An Introduction to Meditation with Emma Mills, author of Inhale, Exhale, Repeat

11am - 12pm

We’re living faster, working harder, and often so busy we forget to take a moment to sit back, close our eyes and just, breathe. In this session, hosted by author and meditation expert Emma Mills, you will be introduced to the practice of meditation - a way to find calm amidst the inevitable chaos of life. 

Inspired by traditional eastern lessons of meditation and mindfulness, neuroscience and insights from literature, Emma offers fresh and simple tools to keep our minds healthy, from that early morning coffee through to the moment you climb into bed, without having to invest in expensive detox courses or far-flung retreats.

In this workshop, Emma will share easy tips and practical takeaways for you to build meditation into your day. So just inhale, exhale, and repeat – and let a sense of calm and focus transform your day.

Come and join us to Rest and Recharge in our drop-in area where there will be opportunity to learn tips and tricks to help you unplug, recharge, relax and reset.

Our ‘Plug-in & Meditate’ headphones offer an opportunity to try out short guided meditations, it takes no more than 5 minutes.

Our yoga expert Ciara will also be on hand to share tips and demonstrate chair based stretches and movements that you can do at your desk to aid rest and relaxation.

We're pleased to welcome back our highly skilled massage therapist Yan who uses a blend of Japanese, Shiatsu, Thai and Indian Head massage techniques to help alleviate stress, relieve tension and leave you feeling instantly calm, focused and refreshed.

Treatments can be tailored to the individual to include head, neck, shoulders, back, hands and arms.

Yoga Class

Join us for this 45-minute gentle yoga class with yoga teacher Ciara, open to all and suitable for absolute beginners.

It is our firm belief that yoga is for everyone, regardless of physical fitness or age. The benefits of yoga are significant, from improving strength & flexibility, reducing inflammation in the body, alleviating lower back pain, reducing muscle tension, perfecting posture, decreasing blood pressure, and most important of all, it makes you happier!

During this session we will introduce you to the basics of yoga postures, healthy alignment and breath techniques.

We will provide yoga mats, you just need to wear some comfortable clothes.
