Menopause for Managers
Menopause is increasingly recognised as an important workplace issue, with growing expectations for employers to provide practical and meaningful support.
For organisations with 250 or more employees, forthcoming Gender Equality Action Plans are expected to require employers to set out the steps they are taking to support employees experiencing menopause, subject to legislation. Government guidance specifically identifies training managers as one of the actions employers can take.
Alongside this, the new international standard ISO 45010:2026 provides guidance for organisations on supporting menstruation and menopause at work, including manager awareness and training.
Equipping managers with the right knowledge and practical skills is an important part of creating a workplace where employees experiencing menopause feel understood and appropriately supported.
