Overview
Suitable for managers
This programme supports managers at all levels to become great at their role.
Delivered over 3 x 60 min sessions, together we explore the essential parts of a good manager’s work; effective 1-1’s, core communication skills, enabling growth and development, and simple coaching skills.
Part 1: Hosting Effective 1-1s
We share the skills to drastically improve the effectiveness of 1:1’s, including the importance of psychological safety, demonstrating care and trust, and developing greater understanding of mental wellbeing.
This session also shares the practical skills and approaches necessary, such as embracing radical candour and conflict that expands, and learning how to take multiple perspectives.
Part 2: Essential New Manager Skills
In this session we delve deeper into the importance of psychological safety and the ‘how to’ of demonstrating care, trust and support.
We explore the importance of giving and receiving feedback and how to enable growth and development.
Part 3: Coaching Skills for Managers
In this session we look at the different ways of listening, noticing judgements, assumptions and beliefs. We explore techniques such as mirroring what they are saying and the art of great questioning.
We share the concept of the GROW model as a structure for conversations, looking at the Goal for the conversation, the Reality of things, Options including experiments and growth opportunities, and the Way forward, designing actions together.
Managers will leave this training well equipped for their jobs and ready to handle any challenges that might come their way.
