Menopause & Mental Health

According to the British Menopause Society, around 70% of women experience psychological symptoms during the menopause transition, including low mood, anxiety, and problems with memory and concentration.

For many, these changes can feel unexpected and overwhelming. Symptoms like brain fog, anxiety and mood swings are often invisible, yet they can have a profound impact on confidence, relationships and performance at work. By opening up conversations and sharing practical strategies, we can reduce stigma and equip people with the tools to support themselves and each other.

Overview

This workshop explores the mental health impacts of perimenopause and menopause, helping to normalise the conversation and provide practical guidance.

We look at why menopause can trigger mood changes, anxiety and cognitive symptoms like brain fog, and how these can affect day-to-day life. We also share practical strategies to support mental health through this stage of life, including lifestyle and diet advice to strengthen brain health.

The session includes discussion on HRT - what it is, how it works, and how it may help with psychological symptoms - alongside an overview of other sources of support, from medical to holistic.

The workshop also provides space for Q&A and troubleshooting to ensure participants can explore real-life challenges and solutions.
