Dr Barbara Mariposa

Dr B is a medical doctor, author and thought leader in the field of mental health, workplace wellbeing and the science that brings all these things together.

Barbara trained as a medical doctor at the Royal Free hospital in London and has a background in psychiatry and public health. Whilst at medical school, she obtained a B.Sc in psychology and later, in Stockholm, a degree in musicology. As a published author, books include “The Mindfulness Playbook”, “The Kindness Habit”, and “Leading with Presence”.

Nowadays, her work aims to support the possibility of human-centred workplaces where everyone matters, everyone cares, and everyone wins. In particular her educational workshops and talks aim to eradicate stigma and discrimination particularly around mental illness, to bring the “how to do it” of mental and emotional wellbeing into the workplace, and to create environments where all colleagues feel worthy, respected and safe. “Healing is not about winning the war but recreating peace.”
